RainCity Housing's Budzey Building Family with "Flowers of Understanding"

Community

Involvement

Blessed with great mentors, I’ve always aimed to give back to the community. Over three decades, my brand-design agency, ISI Branding, has been dedicated to mentoring creative talents worldwide. Our “Art of Donation” program, which began 25 years ago, has provided creative services for charity fundraising, benefiting esteemed organizations such as DEWC – Downtown Eastside Womens’ Centre, Vancouver Opera, BC Special Olympics, and the Coastal Jazz and Blues Society.

Libby Davies, MP, Vancouver East, acknowledged our contributions to Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House in 2004.

One memorable highlight was participating in the Scotiabank Eastside 10km run, where we raised $1,400 for DEWC. In addition, I have donated 10% of artwork sales from the Eastside Culture Crawl in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, totaling over $2,450 for BC charities.

In 2023, our ‘Art of Donation’ featured a series of eight artworks, “Flowers of Understanding,” created to support The Budzey Building’s single mothers in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. This series captured blooms from around the world, symbolizing hope and resilience. The Budzey Building is dedicated to assisting women and families as they transition from homelessness to stable, supported housing.

With gratitude,
Garrett Andrew Chong
